The Lamborghini was a grand tourer brought out in 1968 with a V12 engine. There was a void in the four seater sportscar range and Ferruccio Lamborghini wanted a four seater luxury cruiser. So, the Espada was born with many innovative features like the automatic transmission to handle the powerful engine's torque. From 1968 to 1978 three variants were produced with vast improvements in the interior and some alterations to empower the engine. It was priced at $33,900 when first introduced to the car world and is now available for $ 15000 - $ 30,700. The final model in 1978 was excellent and drew much interest and admiration from car lovers. A total of 1217 units were produced before it was halted with people still nursing a hope that it will come back into production. The few that are on the road still attract stares and astonished gapes.
