Veteran Indian music director Ravindra Jain died yesterday at a Mumbai hospital due to multiple organ failure. He was 71. He was not only a composer but also a singer and lyricist. As a music composer he gave music for hit films like Chor Machaye Shor, Geet Gaata Chal, Chitchor and Ankhiyon Ke Jharokhon Se, in the 70s. He was even selected by India’s greatest showman Raj Kapoor, for whom he composed super hit songs in movies such as Ram Teri Ganga Maili, Do Jasoos, and Heena, He was blind but with his undaunted spirit he overcame blindness to become one of the most successful composers of the country.
