If Luzon has Andres Bonifacio, in the Visayas , one person emerged as Bonifacio's counter part in revolution his name. Pantaleon Villegas, code name Leon Kilat, born in Negros Oriental on July 27 1873 travelled to Cebu and work in a drugstore , in a bakery and later in a circus where he met one person that is a member of the KATIPUNAN. He was then recruited It was said that he have abilities to move fast like lightning and is invincible.
The revolutionaries suffered seatback it was then he decided to go to Carcar Cebu where he met his death. He didn't die in the enemies hand but rather by the treators. They hired 9 people and attacked Leon Kilat when he was asleep because he is a tall and big person and often called as kabayo by the locals...The rest was history..
Leon Kilat Street was named after him.
