Level 6 Shoot: 3

"Hugo Funderburk"

One of my most favourites shoots of the year, a last minute addition to the crew but i thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a long day, from early morning till late on the night.  For the day i was behind the scene and occasional boom op. It was a fairly small shoot from what i was involved in but looking at the footage i had a glimpse into the previous days. I'm excited how the film will turn out and have good expectations.
I learnt a great deal from being a boom op, understanding to follow speech from one character to another makes such a difference. Even though its something i should've already knew, i hadn't done much work on sound before so it was good to be trusted with such a role. Behind the scenes was fairly useful too, i got to use a canon 5D, i have a 7D so it wasn't much difference but the cameras capabilities were much different than i had expected. It was useful looking through a lens as to what was going on, trying to film good bits of what was happening to make it interesting for a viewer and showing vital stages of the production.

I have a feeling this film will be a great project and I'm glad i had the opportunity to get out of my comfort zone, not knowing anyone on the crew and being involved in something that should be a great success.
