It may be less bland than the original, but the second-generation GS was not a thing of beauty. However, it's a paragon of reliability, with major problems unlikely to crop up unless the car is totally abused and neglected. Satisfying to own, the GS is no sports saloon; it's beaten for driving pleasure by most of its key rivals. You'll struggle to find a more serene drive at the money though.
