Most of the prestige saloons sold in the UK are German built and diesel engined, but the Lexus IS is an exception. The smallest four-door from Toyota’s luxury brand, it isn’t available with any diesel engines; instead there’s a 2.5-litre petrol model and a petrol-electric hybrid.
The hybrid is particularly interesting, with low CO2 emissions that put it in a similarly low company car tax band. And if Lexus’s strong customer satisfaction ratings are anything to go by, it should be a pleasure to own.
