After rumors that the new Lexus LS would bow in Tokyo, the Japanese automaker announces that it will instead reveal a new luxury concept car. According to Lexus, the concept we’ll see at the Tokyo auto show “expresses Lexus’ future vision of progressive luxury.”
We’re expecting that Lexus’ new luxury concept will preview both the styling and platform that will eventually underpin the next-gen LS sedan and SC coupe. Given the recently bold and sporty direction that the Lexus lineup has taken, the LS should receive a healthy dose of spindle-faced attitude. A look somewhat in step with the sweeping sexiness of the LF-LC coupe concept (pictured) is a safe bet. Lexus’ European chief Alain Uyttenhoven has expressed in the past the importance of differentiating a core model like the LS, so there’s also a chance the upcoming concept car could surprise us.
