Earlier today I watched '' I witness'' a documentary news here in the Philippines. The doc. is about the farmers of (abaca) a species of banana used for making ropes and and papers. The farmers are collecting the fibers of this plant from its leaves and trunks, and then they will sell it sooner. The process in getting this fiber is not that easy because it requires drying for how many months and it must be very pine and smooth. After all the process in getting this fibers they will sell it. 1kg of it is just 40php or 1$ and the average farmers can only collect 25-30kg of fiber per YEAR, YES! per YEAR. so in total they will have 1000-1300php -(25$) per year 70-80php (2$) per month. Now, can you imagine that? they can live with 2$ per month while some politicians enjoying their life in their mansions spending thousands of dollar everyday. What you think isn't that unfair?
I am thankful because somehow I'm luckier than them, but seeing your fellow men suffering this kind of Calvary just to earn few $ is a torture. All I can do is to pray for them and for those politician to make some action about this.
So I will let you answer the question is LIFE really unfair?
I know the world isn't, but why isn't it ever unfair in my favor? - Bill Watterson
