So today I wanted to write a blog about my life online!!!

I stopped working in what I suppose we can refer to as "the real world" about 5 years ago.

That's when I started live camming!

[which for those of you not aware  is when you entertain people and chat them up live and do whatever the heck you want!]

I tried before this point to be a youtube vlogger with little success..it would seem my style of comedy was a bit too racy for youtubes tastes...

No matter!

Camming and working online has changed my life!

I now earn most of my income camming on live sites and  making videos as well as blogging on lovely sites like Bitlanders [this is a recent development but it's super fun and I do blog work similar to it also]

Here are my favorite reasons to work online be it on live cam, videos or just blogging!!

YOU GET TO BE YOUR OWN BOSS

For the most part, even if there are site rules or parameters for how much you CAN make, overall you are your own boss. YOU decide when it's time to work and when it's not!

For me, this division of work and play can be difficult..I find myself working in one way or another almost 24/7

BUT I CHOOSE THIS

I don't feel stressed because I enjoy the work I do. If I feel sick or moody or I'm just not into it today I can just log off and walk away!

I know of very few jobs in the real world where you can do this!

You also get to decide WHAT you do. There's no pressure to work at a pace you can't handle, no busy work you have to do just to appear like you're doing things just to get paid.

You get paid what you put in, which is a concept I love!!

YOU GET TO BE ON THE CUTTING EDGE

Any work on the internet requires you to be at the cutting edge of the field! Got to keep up with trends and new technology so you can keep yourself competitve! You get to be in the know for new websites, new ideas, and social change happening in real time online! 

You have literal incentive to be hip. To keep current. Or who will watch you? Who will read your blogs or like your videos?

No one!!!

So you have an excuse to be trendy and in the know about the internet world!

YOU GET TO INNOVATE AND BE CREATIVE

Both of these are key to making good content online. I love being creative and always hated how stifled I felt working jobs that required specific tasks...and no creativity. I like to flex my imagination and I like that I am allowed to pursue things that I wouldn't have been able to in real life work. I get to make up what kind of shows I'm going to host, what kind of videos I'm going to make what kind of blogs I will write! 

I get to innovate and come up with new wasy to reach my audiences!

I get to take my wacky personality and really show it off in new creative ways.

 

For all these reasons I am greatful for the internet. I feel like it is the best thing we ever invented and I hope oneday it is free and open to the entire globe not just those of us who can afford it. The internet is so cool it should be a RIGHT not a priviledge to be online!
