So its almost done, I am waiting for the final track and I still have a little grading left to do before its finished. I am very excited to get this one up and for people to watch it. It has been a lot of hard work because of the crew being so small, I think on the next shoot I will appreciate everyone just that little bit more.
So I don’t want to say anymore about it but if you have not seen it already then check out the trailer below.
So what’s coming next for me? Well I applied for London Film School. I know a couple of people who went there and it is one of the top places to do a Masters in film in England and probably the world. The application form was think and apart from that you had to submit an original 3 page screen play followed by a storyboard to support it. I submitted the horror script I had written about the camera which I blogged about last year I think. I got my interview date, went along and spoke honestly about myself and it was a lot of fun. They asked me about the type of film maker I though I was or would be, I said to be honest I love big budget mainstream films, I could lie and give you some obscure film but in reality I would love to direct more mainstream films! That’s what I like to watch and that’s what I would like to do.
Then came the email… I got accepted.
So what’s coming for me next? Well getting in is the first step but going to London film school comes with a price tag of £50000! I don’t have this kind of money and my family doesn’t have this kind of money. So I have applied for a bursary and help to pay the fees, which I am still waiting to hear back from.
But what if I can’t go? What then?
I have just recently finished reading a book that I wanted to make in to a film. I remember the book from when I was a child at school. I figure there must be a reason that this book sticks out for me, so I read it again. It would need a little change to parts of it but I think it could make a movie that I would want to go and see.
So pretty soon I am going to plan to shoot a trailer or a small part of the film, maybe even mark the section of the film in to a short film. Look for a budget and possibly even try to make it as a low budget feature. Possibly use kick starter to search for some funding? Also I will need rights to adapt it so I need to get them.
So there are still other possibility’s and if I cant go one rout then I will make another. The point is if there is something you love doing then you don’t just give up after one door closes and I have been going way to long to stop now.
