My film “Love, Bribes etc" (Chai Pani etc), which won the special Jury award in the Brussels Independent film festival in Belgium and has also been selected at the Monreal World film festival, has now been selected in the the MIAAC (Mahindra Indo-American film festival) film festival to be held in NYC between 5th and 9th November.
“Chai Pani etc” is a 92 min satire on contemporary India mainly in english, with Konkona Sen in a double role. It is about a young filmmaker confronting difficult working conditions, corruption, censorship, the perils of a long-distance relationship and his own rigid attitudes. Ironically it had to face 7 months of censorship before it could be released in India.
