I know loads of people on Film Annex will feel exactly the same way but from script to screen to promotion, film making really makes sense to me. From the first film I made, (Just Killing Time soon to be available on Film Annex) I loved to mess with the audience's expectations. The film by no means was a success but I achieved 3 things:
1. I finished the film. The bar in which we were filming burned down before we'd finished so this was a major plus point.
2. I met Nigel Moore. One of the cast members mentioned that he had a mate who made corporate films and some arty stuff and introduced me to Nigel. I was impressed with his skills of composition and he was impressed that I was actually making something and we hit it off.
3. The film works. Yes the acting (apart from the wonderful Matt Child who should do much more), production and script (the 1st 10 mins could be cut) was a bit ropey but the last 10 mins when all the story clicks in to place really works and was exciting and convinced me that I actually might know what I'm doing with this film making lark.
