How will City handle buoyant Swans?
City come into this game having failed to win five of their last six games in all competitions and Swansea are unlikely to make it easy for them to turn things around even at home.
Stoke have already shocked the natives at Eastlands this campaign and Garry Monk's Swans are arguably just as tricky an outfit to handle. They will be brimming with confidence after beating Arsenal and their 4-2 loss at Chelsea was an unfair reflection on a fearless effort.
What will Pellegrini prioritise?
City host Bayern Munich three days after Swansea visit the Etihad. If Manuel Pellegrini has struggled to juggle domestic and European matters already this season, he really cannot afford to do so again on Saturday.
Fernandinho and Yaya Toure are both suspended for the Bayern match and Sergio Aguero's newfound durability is just as pleasing as his world-class form.
City's internationals will have had ample time to recover this week but Pellegrini has got his line-ups wrong far too often this season and is in the awkward position of making tough choices as early as November.
Will Kompany be risked?
Vincent Kompany remained on the sidelines during the international break and will make his first start in nearly three weeks if he leads City out against Swansea.
City's spine is their greatest asset still, despite Eliaquim Mangala and Yaya Toure's struggles, and Kompany's presence in the win over United was undeniably pivotal.
Pellegrini will be dismissing Swansea at his peril if he rests Kompany just because Bayern are on the horizon. Wilfried Bony and Bafetimbi Gomis are powerful options up front while Swansea have a number of fleet-footed forwards who could expose City's cumbersome defence.
Does Jovetic get another chance?
Stevan Jovetic's yo-yo career at City continued when he was hauled off at half-time in the CSKA Moscow defeat. The Montenegrin has struggled for momentum in a blue shirt but could be reprieved by the injured Edin Dzeko.
Pellegrini persisted with two strikers in the Premier League until the Queens Park Rangers draw, where Aguero thrived as a lone striker, which could convince him to play Toure in a more advanced role.
Jovetic has not completed 90 minutes in the league all season but Saturday would be the perfect time to do so.
Can Nasri regain his form?
Samir Nasri's return from injury has been in fits and starts but with David Silva still unavailable he is City's designated creator in midfield.
The Frenchman, like Jovetic, has struggled to complete a full 90 this term and is yet to register his first goal after an excellent 2013-14.
His importance against Bayern cannot be understated and it is essential Nasri delivers the kind of influential performance he often provided for City last season.
