Marine Slashed Outside Of Bar!

Posted on at

Bouncer Chronicles reports a former United States Marine was slashed outside a Manhattan bar last Wednesday night. The incident occurred in front of the popular Turtle Bay Tavern on Second Avenue between 52nd and 53rd Streets around 8 pm.

The victim was 35 year-old ex-marine Alfonso Matos. The fight started inside the bar and then spilled  out onto the street. Matos was stabbed on the upper side of his back, according to police reports. The fight started when Matos yelled at a group of uniformed servicemen drinking in the bar "you're a disgrace to the uniform." He was upset the men were drinking in uniform.

Just before the servicemen were ejected from the bar one of them pulled out a blade and sliced Matos. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and is in stable condition. The group of uniformed servicemen ran away after the fight.
