It's called the Luigi death stare and you've probably already seen it. Mario Kart 8 came out in the end of May and it's fantastic in every regard. In fact it's so fantastic that people have been coming out of the woodwork advocating for the Wii U. This system was dying due to the PS4 and Xbox One taking it over. Now people are buying Wii U's just to play Mario Kart 8.
Blogs are already taking advantage of the internet trend and compiling best of lists for the video content. It's fantastic and you can view all the Luigi death stare videos here.
So what the hell is this Luigi Death Stare thing in the first place? Well it all started when the game came out and realized a feature called Mario Kart TV. It allows you to share the races that you complete and focus on specific actions in the race. Nobody noticed the character Luigi. He seems to be the only one where when he throws a projectile at somebody he gives them this evil look right afterwards.
It's fantastic and amazing. As the younger brother of Mario for this character to shoot off that look makes really no sense. I should mention, however, that last year was the Year of Luigi where Nintendo posted their biggest losses in the last 20 years.
SO there's that. Maybe that has something to do with it.
...That definitely has something to do with it. Luigi is back.
