Bouncer Chronicles reports the legendary New York City Marquee night club re-opened this month after a brief closing for multi-million dollar renovations. Owners Noah Tepperberg and Jason Strauss temporarily closed their Chelsea hotspot nine years after doors first opened and decided it was time for an upgrade.
The 6200 square foot nightclub went through somewhat of a face-lift. It kept the two foot story layout but added more space on the ground level floor. It also transforms into a stage for musical guests such as David Guatta, DJ Chuckie and Dubfire. All three are set to make appearances at the nightclub in the near future. There are also large LED screens which can be incorporated into performances as well as a large, mechanical disco ball that is encased in a vanity of light bulbs.
On the Mezzanine level the club has a seating area for VIP access, a bar, and wrought-iron catwalks for dancers that could serve as runways for future fashion events.
“This is a totally new concept; a new club with the same address and the same name. Everything else is totally new,” says Tepperberg. “We wanted to make all three (clubs) consistent with each other.”
The owners also confirmed to Page Six exclusively that they have brought in partners including their long-time generals Andrew Goldberg, Rich Thomas, Wass Stevens, Jon Schwartz and Paul Goldstein.
B.C. sources said the first night opened to the public had more than 1,700 guests that partied until the wee hours of the morning.
