Marriage customs are different in all parts of Pakistan. Even in all cities, marriage ceremonies are celebrated in different ways.

The marriage is usually arranged between the elders of bride and bride-groom. First of all the relatives mostly parents, sisters , brothers etc of bride-groom visit the bride’s house to see her. They offered the proposal for girl to the guidance of girl. If they accepted the proposal than the relatives of brides goes to bride-groom house and settles the affairs. And select the day for engagement .

On the selected day, the relatives of bride-groom come with a basket of sweets, ring, and garments to the bride’s house. The family of girl offered tea, cold drinks or dinner.

After engagement, they fix a day for nikkah. And the elders and registrar makes a number of entries in the register and thus prepare the legal documents of wedding. On the day of nikkah the mullah ask thrice from both whether they marry or not. Than the mullah recites few verses from Holy Quran, prey for their successful marriage life and declared them to husband and wife.Than sweet are distributed among all relatives.

Now a day is selected for actual wedding. A number of ceremonies are held before the appointed day. The bride-groom is come on car or horse with his family. The house is well decorated. The guests are warmly welcomed. The guests are seated and take dinner. The dinner is served first to gents then to ladies.

After the dinner, the bride- groom comes in ladies section, where the sisters of brides give bride-groom milk and he also presents those with gifts or money.  The guests also give money or gifts to the bride-groom.

 Now the bride comes from pallor, she wears bridal dress and ornaments. Now the ending of marriage ceremony occurs. Now the bride is seated in palanquin or car and come at her husband home and is warmly welcomed by his family.
