Completing a master's degree in a criminal justice class online allows a student to changeover to the advanced fields that are within the criminal justice system giving them the opportunity to work in fields, such as, criminal justice consulting, teach college level criminal justice courses, manage criminal justice related businesses, be able to advance within the agency they are ready involved with.
For the master's degree, the student needs to complete all the core courses and respective electives. The core courses will include, computer applications of criminal justice, survey of criminological theories, survey of criminal justice research and theory, research methods in criminology, and applied statistics in criminology.
The electives include many varied choices, social justice, criminal law, individual rights, procedures, race, ethnicity, crime, prevention and treatment of delinquency – police and society, penology, criminal justice administration, science, victimology, law, forensic science in investigation, and evidence.
If you choose the quickest online master's degree, it will take approximately two years to complete all the course work - the student must complete 36 graduate level credit hours. There are a few colleges and universities that offer this option and they are all accredited. Boston University, Florida State University and the University of Massachusetts are all accredited universities that offer the quick online master's degree.
Each of these institutions can offer financial aid. To qualify a student must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college upon admission. Doing a master's degree in a criminal justice class online gives the student the opportunity to study at the same time continue with a career, raise their families and continue with their normal routine, they can do the course in their own time without adhering to strict classroom schedules. On completion of their studies they will be able to advance their career.
