“MISSION ACCOMPLISHED?” By SUSAN SACIRBEY

Booted from ZUCCOTTI PARK. Laptops, cameras, personal items confiscated. OCCUPY WALL STREET still has in many ways accomplished its mission. A grassroots movement whose ideas and passions spread like wildfire across the prairie has garnered worldwide attention. The “US against THEM,” the 99% regular guy/gal versus the 1% wealthiest, voices have been heard and echoed to “TAKE BACK AMERICA, PROTECT FREE SPEECH, our FIRST AMENDMENT right.” Executive Director, DAN CANTOR, of the WORKING FAMILIES PARTY (WFP) appeared on “CNN American Morning” today to discuss strategy moving forward: “Of course it’s the power of their ideas that has captured the day, to a degree,” he said. “But we live in a society where money often trumps speech. … So it’s wrong to say it’s merely the power of ideas, you need to be able to amplify those ideas… The occupiers did it with their physical selves by taking this space. Now they have said themselves, it’s not really about that space, it’s about these ideas, which are spreading. So I’m quite optimistic about what they’ve accomplished and what is yet to come.” November 17th -- the movement continues and the MARCH IS ON. Here is a message I received today on Facebook from WFP Team that I’m forwarding to you. Those in New York, hope to see you there. Our friends overseas, please support us in spirit. “Mayor Bloomberg and Brookfield Properties got their way yesterday, kicking the protesters out of Zuccotti Park. But the ideas behind the protest have spread – and they’re much more powerful than any one campsite. You cannot evict an idea whose time has come. Tomorrow evening, thousands of New Yorkers will gather at Foley Square at 5pm to march to the Brooklyn Bridge and declare that we are the 99%. Will you join us? Hundreds of protesters were arrested, and many spent over 24 hours in jail. After the eviction, Mayor Bloomberg won in court, blocking protesters from bringing back tents or sleeping bags to the park. There’s something deeply wrong when unlimited corporate campaign spending is protected by the first amendment, but a protest in a park isn’t. What would have happened if a court in Greensboro, North Carolina blocked the sit-ins at Woolworth’s in 1960? Free speech – truly free speech – is necessary to achieve real social change. Thursday, we’re going back to the streets to march in solidarity with the 99% movement. We must prove that the 99% will not be silenced. Show up, stand in solidarity and protect our right to lawful, peaceful protest. In solidarity, Joe Dinkin & the WFP Team” ---By, SUSAN SACIRBEY Facebook – Become a Fan at “Diplomatically Incorrect” Twitter - Follow us at DiplomaticallyX Related Film & Blog Reports: Diplomatically Incorrect Channels: diplomaticallyincorrect.org/c/diplomatically-incorrect America – “AAA Country” Channels: diplomaticallyincorrect.org/c/america-aaa-country “Racketeering Against Occupy Wall Street?” By Ambassador Mo diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/blog_post/racketeering-against-occupy-wall-street-by-ambassador-mo/41795 “Surviving Snow & Police Crackdown on Occupy Wall Street,” By Ambassador Mo diplomaticallyincorrect.org/films/blog_post/surviving-snow-police-crackdown-on-occupy-wall-street-pass-it-on/38437
