A moderate earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale today shook various parts of Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The epicentre of the quake was at a depth of 144 kilometres in the Hindukush mountain ranges near Tajikistan border. So far there is no report of loss of life or property but as Nepal has been devastated severely by the recent quake, people have been very panicky in the region. The government of Pakistan is fully aware of the situation.
