Monitor is used as output device in personal computer It is a display device so it is called display it consists a screen and other different  electronic components that display information on screen .In desktop  computer monitor is separate unit   mobile computer and devices monitors is built into the  top of the case some have touch screen

But here we   discuses only two types of monitors

(1)CRT monitor (2) FLAT-panel monitors

CRT monitor

CRT stand for cathode ray tube .cathode ray tube is a vacuum tube. The front part tube is screen the back of the screen is coated with phosphor.CRT monitor contains one or more electronic gun

Flat-panel display are made up of two plates of glass Flat panel monitors are available with different sizes. Flat panel monitors are mostly used with note book computer and mobile devices.  Standard size of flat panel monitors for note book computer is 15 or 16  inches  example of mobile devices that use flat panel monitor are digital camera. Today flat panel monitors are also commonly used with desktop computer
