'Stoned' dog can't stand up after eating owner's cannabis cakes in shocking video

The Siberian Husky had to be held up by his owner after snaffling a stash of marijuana cakes left in a bag

This shocking video shows a 'stoned dog' unable to stand up after eating its owner's cannabis cakes.

Loki, a Siberian Husky, was seen in the video with his tongue lolling out of his mouth and his eyes rolling back in his head as his owner desperately tried to keep the dog upright.

The canine lurches forwards several times as though he is about to be sick before throwing his head back, seemingly unable to hold his own body weight.

Alongside the clip, Tony Costa wrote: "After having friends over, my roommate and I were watching TV when we noticed Loki, my roommate's dog starts flipping out in his corner [...]

Shocking: Dog struggles to stand after snaffling owner's stash of cannabis cakes

"After investigating we established that he had went into one of our friend's bag and ate his rice krispie treat filled with marijuana [sic].

"After contacting our veterinarian friends we knew it was just a waiting game. We kept careful watch on him for the next 20 hours.

"The next morning he was still high and able to walk, by that evening he was back to normal running around."

Tony added that he had posted the video for entertainment as well as educational purposes.

The one minute clip has clocked up over 9,500 views since it was uploaded in April, with some viewers finding the footage funny, while others were shocked.

Not funny: Some YouTube viewers were horrified by the video

On viewer wrote: "That dog is high as f*** lol," but another added: "Aww I feel bad for the little dude, it's not even a laughing matter."

The RSPCA's website suggests taking a dog straight to the vets if you suspect it has been poisoned by drugs or food it has eaten.

They also state that owners should never try to make their dogs sick and warn that using salt water for this purpose can be extremely dangerous.

A spokesperson added: "Never 'watch and wait'. If you suspect your pet's been poisoned, contact a vet immediately."
