Security guard Moyna Mia alias Boro Moyna, who was arrested for being involved in teenager Samiul Alam Rajon murder, has given confessional statement before a court in Sylhet.

The statement was recorded on Monday from 4:00pm to 7:45pm.

Moyna gave the confessional statement before Judge Anwarul Haque of the Judicial Magistrate's Court under section 164.

Abdul Ahad, assistant commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police, said Moyna had confessed to his involvement in the Samiul murder.

Police said Moyna, a resident of Peerpur village in Jalalabad, was a security guard of Kumargaon bus station.

Earlier on 8 July, the 13-year-old boy, son of Sheikh Azizur Rahman of Badeali village in Sadar upazila, was brutally tortured to death over a theft allegation at Sundar Ali Market in Kumargaon area of the city.

The killers themselves took the video footage of the incident and uploaded it on the internet.

The video clip went viral on social networking site Facebook and video-sharing site Youtube which caused a widespread outcry.
