The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday announced a 14-member squad for the two-match Test series against South Africa, starting in Chittagong on 21 July.
The team include 19-year old left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman as a reward for his outstanding performance in the limited over formats.
About Mustafizur’s inclusion, chairman of the BCB National Selection Panel Faruque Ahmed said “He (Mustafizur) has already shown what he is capable of and possibly he has been the brightest find for us in recent times.”
“He has also been playing all versions of cricket this season including four day games and we are confident that he will adjust quickly to Test cricket,” he added.
Mahmudullah made a return to the team having recovered from a finger injury.
Mushfiqur Rahim will captain the team while Tamim Iqbal will lead the squad as vice captain.
