I am a great adminer of Iqbal because he is not only the great poet but also a great thinker.He is commonly known as the great philosopher and poet of Asia.As a matter of fact,he rarely deserve this tittle.
Allama Muhammad Iqbal was born in sialkot in 1877.He was very intelligent.He received his early education in his native town and was a favourite student of his teachers.Immediately after passing his intermediate examination from sialkot,he joined the GOvernment College Lahore.He took his M.A in philosophy from this College and then he was taken in college staff as a lecturer.
Soon he went to England to join Law when he came back he settled in Lahore as a practicing Barrister.At this time his first book Bangi-Dara appeared.It contains some poems of his early youth. these games gives expressions to his patriotic feelings.When these poems were written there was a move in India for unity but soon iqbal realised that narrow nationalism was against the teaching of Islam.
This bought the great changs in his views and Iqbal,who once sang praised for the Gange became a poet of Islam.After this book Iqbal wrote in persion,but soon he realised that common mn in India could not understand Persion.Therefore,once again he began to write in Urdu,his urdu work is difficult in in expressions and deep in thought.His book set new stabdard of poetery.All those who tried to imitate his style have failed and Iqbal is still matchlers.
Which attracts me most to Iqbal and his poetery is great message of life that he conveys through his poems.Pakistan was the dream of Iqbal.He did not live to see his dream coming true.He died on April 21st on 1938 in Lahore.He is buried in Lahore near the gate of Badshahi mosque.
