What Did It Feel Like?

It felt like my heart stopped, like I couldn't breathe, so nerve wracking. And every time he passed me in the hallway my heart pounded so hard I thought that he would hear it. Butterflies in my stomach, and when he hugged me I just didn't want to let go, it felt so warm and belonging.

What Happened Next?

He was my best friend. We didn't want to date because he was two years older than me and he didn't want my parents to disapprove. Soon enough my parents saw me hug an "older" guy, assumed we were dating and forbade me to see him. I snuck out to see him and his mom saw me hiding and thought we were doing drugs. She forbade him to see me. We would do anything to see each other. One day he saw me in such pain because my family was falling apart because of me that he told me he hated me and that he had a girlfriend all that time, and that he never wanted to see me again. I fell into a deep hole and thought I would never get up, a year of best friends down the drain. He still says hi to me but we were never the same since our Romeo and Juliet fantasy ended there.
