In 2014 I am going to vote for the next presidential election in Afghanistan. I have lots of hopes for 2014. I hope for a fair and transparent election. I hope for peace and stability in the region. I hope for development in state and development in planning for the next phase of economic growth in Afghanistan. All these hopes must be kept alive; otherwise, people might get lost in the river of depression and unfortunate events.
My hopes for 2014 is alive because I can see two great omens for a brighter Afghanistan. One of these omens is the support of international community and another is the support of new generation of Afghan youth for peace. I can't deny the aggression of Taliban troops as one of the biggest challenges in front of international community and Afghan youth; however, I hope for their involvement for the support of a democratic election with respect to the constitution. I hope for Taliban to compete with their counterparts on the basis of a clear and just platform of action. Taliban can be involved in the process of election and defend from their theory of having an Islamic Emarat. Once they made clear their reasons, then, Afghans can vote or not vote for them. I hope that people give another chance to Taliban to participate in the process of election and the Taliban respect the rights people to vote or not vote for them.
I don't hope for everything to be perfect in this election; however, I hope for a fair and transparent election in which every Afghan feel content that their rights are respected.
