You Weren't There
You weren't there when my tears started to fall,
When I needed someone to call,
When my head bowed down
And my smiles turned to frown..
You weren't there when I needed your embrace,
The time when I wanted to see your face.
When I needed someone for me to calm,
Oh yes, indeed, you did not come.
You weren't there when my eyes could not see,
All the good, the best and the beauty,
And when my ears could not hear
the loudness of your cheer.
So then I was alone,
Me, my soul and broken bone.
Through the darkness there was nothing in sight
And only me could bring myself to Light.
This poem is originally created by ME when I was still in college.
