My Top 5 Korean Psychological Thriller Films

Posted on at

I love watching movies! My hubby and I do watch different types of movies everyday. Some of the films that I love to watch are Psychological Thrillers, Action Thriller, Romantic Comedy and a lot more. I can say that I’m a total fan of Korean Psychological Thrillers. I watch Hollywood films but at some point, I think South Korean films are way more better than Hollywood movies. Anyway, since I love watching Korean movies, I might as well share my top 5 favorite Korean Psychological Thriller films :)

Here is my top 5 Psychological Thriller Korean Films (in no particular order):

- I also included my personal ratings for the films.

1. I Saw The Devil

Rating: 8/10

This is actually a revenge movie. (Yes I love revenge films!)

It’s about a man who wants to take revenge to the person who brutally killed his fiancé. He is a trained secret agent and becomes obsessed to haunt down his fiance’s killer. He began investigating and one by one he begins to torture the suspects until he found the killer. Then the game of cat and mouse begins.

2. The Chaser

Rating: 8/10

This is a real suspense thriller film for me because it will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This movie is about a real-life serial killer who preys into girls (most likely prostitutes) and kills them. Then the pimp, also a former detective who is handling the missing girls started tracking down his missing girls. Along the way, he finds clues to where the missing girls could be.

3. Confession of Murder

Rating: 9/10

This film is not what I expected to be, in a good way actually. There are surprises within this film which makes it more interesting and suspenseful.

It’s about a serial killer who publishes a book about the murder he committed years ago in a detailed manner. A detective who investigates the case starts to chase him once again as well as the families who lost their loved ones because of the said murders. Meanwhile, there is another killer who appears and he tells people and the media that the author of the said book is not the real killer. So it will make you guess who tells the truth and who tell lies.

4. No Mercy

Rating: 9/10

One of the most genius revenge film I have ever watched. (No spoilers!)

This film is about a mysterious serial killer who decapitates his victims and dismember them. An NISI officer tried to investigate the identity of the mysterious killer who is actually a conservationist. Then they found the suspect and put him in a room to interrogate then, things starts to unravel the mystery behind the serial killer.

5. Old Boy

Rating: 8/10

One of the best plot twist in Korean films! Brilliant screenplay I must say :)

An average man was kidnapped for no particular reason and held captive for 15 years. When he got out, he tries to find his captivator only to find the pathetic reason behind all the torture and kidnapping.

There you have it! My top 5 Korean Psychological Films (for now). You should totally check these movies (if you haven’t watched it yet) for they really are one heck of a film!
