My Working Life

Posted on at

I work at the MCCBO ( Marefat Civil Capacity Building Organization) Finance Office since 2012. My responsibility as a member of this office is keeping financial records and issuing bank receipts for Marefat High School students regarding their tuition fees. My working hours start from seven in the morning and finishes at four in the afternoon. I set comfortably on a chair, have hot tea and milky chocolates and talk to the students and their parents about their financial needs and school financial rules. When there is no one to talk to, I prefer designing excel sheets and recording school canteen transactions, such as daily revenue and expense. Otherwise, when I get bored, I walk on the corridor where office is located.

Working at the MCCBO Finance Office is easy and comfortable for me and I enjoy learning more about people and life from there. For example, I learn about students and families who are poor but hopeful and energetic. There are students who have financial problems and can’t pay their tuition all at once; still, some are planning for a wise payment in installations while others are applying for scholarship. Among them, there are students whose parents are dead or handicap; they work and study. Life looks tough for them but they never give up. Their shiny hopeful eyes enlightens my vision for tomorrow and tell me that no matter how hard the life would become; if you don’t give up, all your wishes may come true.

Sometimes when I get bored or life challenges me with depression I reminisce my memories of those families who invest their money for their children to study. Even if I could not complete my higher education due to problems I promise not to lose my gratitude for the people who study, especially those who are struggling with the financial problems but still have a great hope for continuing their education. I know having gratitude is not enough but it is the least I can do for them. I hope in a near future I could help making policies for Marefat High School students with financial needs to continue their education and overcome economic challenges.
