How much will this new model cost?
MyPhone is teasing a new Rio model, what the company is calling their biggest ever. The new device, which hasn’t been named by the company yet, is poised to posses the largest screen in the current Rio lineup, having a 5.5-inch display (both the original Rio and the Rio Fun maxed out at 5-inches).
Even better, the new device is pegged to retail lower than Php 4,499, which is drastically lower than what the original Rio went for. While MyPhone hasn’t revealed the name of the device yet, it looks like the specs are pretty good for what it’ll be – 5.5-inch display (of unknown resolution) 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 5-megapixel rear camera, 4GB of internal storage with expansion via microSD, 3G and WiFi and a rather large 2800mAh battery. Because of the possible pricing this particular smartphone may have 512MB of RAM, though we’d be pleasantly surprised if it carried 1GB.
In any case, we’ll all know today what the price of the phone will be as they’ll be doing a one day sale of the device in SM North EDSA. We’re assuming that the Php 4,499 price is the standard retail SRP and that MyPhone’s price tease is just the sale price for today.
