National Buttercrunch Day

Posted on at

toffeeToday, January 20th, is National Buttercrunch Day.

Buttercrunch is a type of toffee, and the name is also used for the biscuits (cookies) that contain pieces of the same toffee. It can also be used in other dishes, as can most types of toffee.

Buttercrunch, or butter crunch, is described as being caramel and toffee, and is also made from sugar and, like them, is made by caramelising it. Toffee tends to be hard, and caramel softer.

As well as in biscuits or by itself, buttercrunch can be added to muffins, cheesecakes, ice cream and used as a topping to name a few.
