National Mousse Day

Today, November 30th, is National Mousse Day.

Mousses can be both savoury and sweet, but the sweet ones are the most common.

Mousses are light and delicate and have a, quite literally, airy texture. This is because of the tiny bubbles in the mousse, which are put there by whipping the mixture during preparation.

Dessert mousses using whipped cream or whipped eggs and can be flavoured in many ways, with chocolate being one of the most common although fruit can also be used.
