For the 6th consecutive year the New York State Senate voted in favor of legalizing mixed martial arts (MMA) in the state of New York. According to Bouncer Chronicles, the bill's primary supporter, Joseph A Griffo (R-Rome), stated "we historically passed it with overwhelming support from all regions across the state from both sides of the aisle. The assembly has been difficult and we are asking for a conversation and opportunity to have a vote on the bill."
UFC officials and political supporters are cautiously optimistic it will reach a vote.
