If any of you know me you know I always try to watch the pilot of every new series. It's a great way to look at the trends on TV and what networks are looking at or missing content wise. Here are my reviews of Sleepy Hollow, Dads and Brooklyn 99.
Aimed at a teen audience Sleepy Hollow pairs a small town female cop and the reawakened Ichabod Crane. The two must follow the clues to stop the four horsemen of the apocalypse. I did like the aspect of both Crane and the headless horseman being reawakened into the present day but the story fell short when the idea of religion was brought in. I probably wont continue watching this one.
Dads which is one of Fox's new comedies this year was horrible! The fact that racisim, sexisim and just down right bad humor are what make up this show is the reason why I won't continue to watch it. I like to have some semblance of clever humor in my comedies, this is the epitome of BAD humor.
Andy Samberg stars in Brooklyn 99 is funny and you can see why it's created by the guys that brought us Parks and Rec. Samberg plays a cop who is laid-back and has never grown up. But when the new chief comes into town Samberg is forced to grow up and respect his job. With all the comedy the one thing I liked was that the pilot was able to remind us that these characters are cops who like their jobs and do solve murder cases.
