New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards

Posted on at

The Muse Awards is an annual event held by New York Women in Film & Television, a non-profit organization that has been championing and advocating for women in the entertainment industry since it's founding in a Greenwich Village apartment by a small group of women the night of the Great Blackout of 1977.  A look at the list of names of the women that currently serve as the association's Board of Directors as well as the roster of women that serve on the Advisory/ Honorary Board is beyond impressive.  With that kind of power guiding the way, the organization has established itself as the pre-eminent resource for New York women in the field of entertainment. NYWIFT offers funding, scholarships, internships and mentoring programs as well as job boards and resource guides which offer it's membership unparalleled networking assets.

Equally as impressive as the list of names of the leadership of the organization is the list of past recipients of the Muse Award for Outstanding Vision and Achievement. This year's honorees continue that tradition. Accomplished women, each an advocate actively giving back to the community, the awards went to actors Robin Wright, Ellen Barkin, Connie Britton, Sonia Manzano and network executive Frances Berwick. Also honored with the Loreen Arbus Award for Those Who Take Action and Effect Change was producer, director and actor Nancy Malone.  The luncheon was hosted by television personalities Wendy Williams and Andy Cohen.

#InTheLab host Arthur Kade was there for the event and had the opportunity to speak with all the honorees as well as host Wendy Williams and presenter Carla Gugino. Please take a moment and join us for this celebration of women's achievement...
