The famous CS:GO eSports organization Ninjas in Pyjamas have signed their first Dota 2 squad. The Swedish based organization has acquired the skillset of also Swedish line-up Lajons.
Ninjas in Pyjamas have finally ventured into the Dota 2 scene. Many times have they been rumored to pick up a team but now it is a reality. The Swedish line-up Team Lajons will play under the Ninjas in Pyjamas flag from now on. The Swedes are currently in China to attend the i-League LAN finals and will make their debut tomorrow. They were initially set to play today, but travel delays forced their match against LGD-Gaming to be rescheduled.
Statement by Per Lilliefelth, CEO of NiP:
"We continue on our path to build an eSport powerhouse based in the Nordics. Swedish and Scandinavian eSports have always been successful and in the frontline of development in the world of Gaming. We are proud to see that so many eSport-stars want to join the NiP colors and represent us on the global scene. I’m personally impressed with the players in Lajons who have come so far without any backing at all. Now we will do everything in our power to give them the best possible conditions to grow with the NiP organisation"
Statement by Adrian 'Era' Kryeziu:
"We are proud to have been given this tremendous opportunity. To play under the Ninjas in Pyjamas banner is a boyhood dream for all of us. We will show that Sweden is to trust when it comes to big championships and tournaments in Dota 2. Our journey as Ninjas will start in China where we jump in to the Ileague Finals. After that you can see us in the Starladder finals in Kiev Ukraine. 2015 is our year, the year of the Ninjas. "
Ninjas in Pyjamas is a prestigious eSports brand that is a household name in the CS:GO scene, as their roster has been at the top of the scene for quite a while. The organization was often rumored to venture into Dota 2 over the past years, most notably when Swedish team NoTidehunter, now Alliance, did not announce their sponsor for a few months.
Lajons is a Swedish team that formed around former Fnatic player Era. The Swede had already played in a team called Lajons back in Heroes of Newearth and has reestablished the name in Dota 2 after Ti4. The team had many iterations with a variety of Swedish players but for a while now has set on these five players. Showing off a 72% winrate in December, Lajons has most recently qualified for StarLadder Season XI LAN Finals in Kiev.
