This screening of “Dirty Laundry” celebrates the Fifth Anniversary of the South Asian film/video exhibition collective 3rd i NY. The film is a lyrical first-person account of author Amitava Kumar’s journey to South Africa to learn about the history of the Indian diaspora. He explores issues of citizenship, unity and politics while learning of the integral participation of the Indian community in South Africa during the overthrow of Apartheid. Q&A with Kumar follows the screening, moderated by Prerana Reddy, co-founder of 3rd i NY and Sukhdev Sandhu.
