On to the first of firsts…the launch of ÉCU’s new category, ‘ÉCU Firsts’. This exciting new edition offers first-time filmmakers the opportunity to screen their films at the ÉCU Film Festival in our special “ÉCU Firsts” screening area in Paris, for free, from March 30th to April 1st 2012. For the first time ever, Kadi is off to Sofia, Bulgaria to judge the 7th edition of the International Student Film Festival -”Early Bird”- which is ÉCU’s first Bulgarian film festival partner. Keep updated on her experience via our Twitter feed.

Whilst in Norway this month, Scott expects to catch his first salmon – some firsts may never happen :) In the meantime, he is excited to present a special ÉCU screening of films from our official selection 2011 – Paths of Hate, Stanley Pickle, Colder, Exlibris, Jittertree, and Adelanto - at the 1st edition of the Kabelvåg Kunstfilmfestival (17th – 19th November 2011). He will also be conducting a masterclass and trying his hand at arctic surfing!

First deadline! Be sure to submit your film by our “Early Bird” deadline, 20th November 2011. Early bird worms come in the form of a reduced submission fee! Simply go to our website to submit.

Another great event was the ÉCU Special Screening, 15th November 2011, 19h30-21h30 which took place at Café Coutume in Paris. Visit ÉCU’s Facebook page to see some of the best photos.

This month, ÉCU is very pleased to announce its new partnership with 180, the first Portuguese TV channel to offer cultural content from multiple sources.
