Now you can game properly wherever you are
NVIDIA has announced their newest GPUs based on their Maxwell GPU architecture aimed at notebooks: the GeForce GTX 980M and 970M. NVIDIA is promising around 80% parity when it comes to performance for the 980M compared to its burlier desktop brother, a big improvement over the previous generation, Kepler.
Of course, pure gaming performance is nothing if it completely drains your battery, and NVIDIA is addressing this through better BatteryBoost performance. The new iteration of BatteryBoost limits in-game framerates and balances the output of your CPU, GPU and memory to get the most out of your battery while maintaining a smooth experience while playing games.
NVIDIA is also promising that Maxwell’s Dynamic Super Resolution (basically a fancy downsampling solution) will allow you to enjoy 4K-quality content on lower 1080p display. Basically, the notebook will render a game in 4K resolution and is downsampled to your notebook’s 1080p display.
The new GPUs will appear in the notebooks of NVIDIA’s partners like the ASUS G751, MSI GT72, Gigabyte Aorus X7, Clevo P150 and MSI GS60.
