Sub-inspectors (SIs) Aminul Islam and Zakir Hossain of Jalalabad police station in Sylhet were suspended and officer-in-charge (OC) Alamgir Hossain was withdrawn for their negligence of duty in connection with the Rajan murder incident.

The three-member probe committee of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP), which was formed to investigate the allegations of negligence of duty by police after Samiul Alam Rajan was tortured to death, submitted its report on Thursday night.

The police officials were found guilty in the probe report.

Sylhet Metropolitan Police additional deputy commissioner (media wing) Md Rahmat Ullah confirmed the news of the departmental measures.
