Evan Blass, known as @evleaks, has tweeted out what appears to be official press renders of both the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+. Both phones are expected to be unveiled during the next Samsung Unpacked event on August 13th. The event will take place in New York City, ironically nicknamed "The Big Apple."
The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ is rumored to have a global launch and will be the beneficiary of a huge marketing budget from Samsung. The device is basically similar to the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, but with a 5.7-inch screen. For example, a listing on Indian import-export site Zauba recently confirmed that the same 16MP rear snapper on the Galaxy S6 edge will adorn the back of the Galaxy S6 edge+.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to be powered by the Exynos 7422 chipset and while it won't have a curved screen like the Galaxy S6 edge+, it will come with the S Pen housed in a tube-like home on the bottom right of the phablet. Users will pry the pen out of its housing by using an index finger and a gap opening left on the bottom of the phone, just for that reason. The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to launch in markets where previous versions of the Galaxy Note line has sold well. That includes the U.S. and South Korea.
If you haven't already, circle August 13th on your calendar for the big event. And there is plenty of time remaining before the unveiling, for more huge leaks to take place. Check in often!
