This old temple of the PURE LAND SCHOOL OF JAPANESE BUDDHISM or JODO- SHU is the site of a memorial to more than 100,000  victims of a great fire in seventeenth century as well as the grave of  EDO PERIOD folk hero  NEZUMI  KOZOU .
