At long last, I’ve been wanting to do this for the last few weeks now, but here is my latest film, Dentures.
It’s a short comedy about the world of rap battling and how sometimes we need to speak the right “language” to communicate between generations.
Me and Andy (check out his webtv http://www.filmannex.com/webtv/andy-salamonczyk) have been talking about making short films for what seems like forever, so we finally decided to stop talking and start doing. Dentures (formally Oh Grandma) is an idea I came up literally one sunday morning talking to my wife, so for it to be completed 3 months later is a blessing.
As I said in my previous blog posts, it was a pleasure working on my first personal narrative film with dialogue since university (over 3 years ago YIKES). Post production has been pretty straight forward. It’s always easier when you are working with quality talent, which I can’t stress enough.
Here is a little bit of what went into the whole day:
Shooting two films in one day was a great exercise in discipline. Sometimes you have to create a limitation to get the most out of your creativity. Having half a day to shoot a film surely put a new spin on things, stay tuned for my friend Andy's upcoming short film Richie, which will be premiering soon.
All in all it’s been a great way to get back into the swing of things, and all I can say is stay tuned, 2014 is going to be a year of short films.
Without further adieu here is my latest short Dentures:
Have a nice day and God Bless
