Gearbox Software and 2K recently announced that the next installment in the Borderlands franchise will be arriving this upcoming fall on XBox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. The game is called "Borderlands: The PreSequel" and name that few other franchises could hold. Self referential humor is a trademark of the franchise which Borderlands 2 writer, Anthony Burch of Hey Ash Whatcha Plain'?, was able to really able to channel and perfect. The game takes place between the first and second Borderlands games following Borderlands 2 villain Handsome Jack's rise to power. With the name and concept os a "PreSequel" I can only image how many "The Lion King One and a Half" jokes there will be. The name of it is so ridiculous that even without knowing the franchise the humor of it all is put right out there. There is no way a franchise like Call Of Duty could hold the title of a "PreSequel" and for that I applaud Borderlands.
