Orakzai Agency is Federally Administrated Tribal Area In Pakistan. Its total population is about 450000 and the total area is 700 square miles. Orakzai Agency came into being in 1st December 1973.

 it has two sub divisions: Upper division and Lower division. Further the upper division has two tehsils upper tehsil & Ismail Zai tehsil and while the lower division has also two tehsils lower tehsil and central tehsil.The agency headquarter in situated in Hangu district.

 

Culturally the people of Orakzai Agency are very polite and so hospitable. They respect to everybody whose they belonged to their area or not. The people of Orakzai Agency has their own culture that is “Pakhtun walay”.

 “Jirgah” culture is common in Orakzai Agency. “Jirgah” system is very strong in this area. All kinds of problems, issues and other matters which are belong to the people of Orakzai Agency were solved by “Jirgah” system. “Jirgah” system has great advantages to the Orakzai residents because poor people also can survive from this system of Jirgah. In Jirgah system local “Malaks” are involved to solve the issues and matters.
