Pahela Baishak is the 1st day of Bangla New Year .With this day the year begins. This Bangla year was introduced by the mughal emperor Akbar following the harvesting season. Now pahela baishak is a kind of Bengali culture on this day Bengalies gather for new hopes and a new future .

In Bangladesh the celebrations of pahela baisahak started from a national consciounsness . In the city dwellers get up early in the morning and go to Ramna Batamul and they dress up in fine clothes . women wear saree and blowese and men wear pajama and panjabi. Tagore's Baishaki song ''Esho he boishak esho , esho '' is heard every where .

However , pahela baishakh is indeed a momentous occasion in our life . To every Banglee, young- old ,rich-poor , wise and ignorant , it is a time of gaiety to be celebrated  with great merry making and to be enjoyed in every possible manner .
