ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan visited Sri Lanka on the last leg of his tour of South Asian cricketing nations.
The purpose of the trip was to improve coordination and forge friendly ties between cricket boards of the four South Asian cricketing nations.
Shaharyar met Sri Lanka Cricket Board president Jayantha Dharmadasa in Colombo and discussed matters related to regional and bilateral cricket, according to a message received here on Friday from Pakistan’s High Commission in Colombo.
Shaharyar also briefed the Sri Lankan side about the improved security situation in Pakistan.
He informed Sri Lankan Cricket that Pakistan was following a gradual approach to revive international cricket in Pakistan.
In this regard, the PCB chief invited Sri Lanka’s women cricket team, ‘A’ team and under-19 team to visit Pakistan.
He assured that foolproof security arrangements will be made for the visiting teams.
Dharmadasa assured fullest support to Pakistan cricket.
