As I write this, I am flying back to Saudi Arabia, from where I had flown in on my Leader's call to celebrate with him. The plane has just taken off and I can see -e-Pakistan right over there. Yes this is the monument which has thrice hosted the electrifying and overwhelming Lahore which unfortunately I have never been able to attend due to work commitments. Feels like yesterday when I flew in to cast my vote in May '13 and the mandate was stolen. The whole election campaign and efforts apparently appeared to have been futile just because of an ailing electoral system. Sigh!
However, the cornered tiger did not accept the massive scam like the typical politicians in exchange of personal benefits but stood against it. Hence, our pre-poll efforts didn’t really go down the drain. In fact, what rigging has done is, it has pulled out a greater fervor and passion out of Pakistanis. This also compelled me to share the burden of my Leader. I became a part of the Research and Planning Department at #InsafYouthWing Punjab-Official to serve the cause on a voluntary basis. What a satisfactory feeling it is.
From driving the car for 5 hours from Lahore, parking the car a kilometer away behind the blockade containers, walking all the way to the # and being present over there was an entirely different sentiment filled with enthusiasm, motivation and inspiration. I could see people from all walks of life standing together. There were elite families, poor fellows, middle class couples, long bearded , kids, elderly women, and possibly everyone you can think of at the A. Guess what they were doing? They were celebrating together. There was love, patience, tolerance and respect for everyone. It seemed like one giant family standing together. What a beautiful picture to imagine for #
Sometimes I feel that I should have been based in my motherland, so that I could become a vigorous part of this great movement that we all desperately long for. However, on the other end of the spectrum I am also proud of myself that I, along with thousands of other overseas Pakistanis, in the given capacity, am doing my level best to inch forward this movement by each passing day.
