This is my first blog for any site, i don't have any experience of blog writing but i hope for the best. For your kind information I want to tell you that I am die hard cricket fan. No one can spare me watching cricket. So I choose writing a blog on cricket because this is the topic I can write. The post is about the review of the first match of the series of Pakistani tour of England and Ireland 2016.

First one day international of Pakistan tour of England and Ireland 2016 held on 18th of August (scorecard). It was such a thriller and a history changer match for Pakistan because they improved their records a lot in this match. This match gave a lot of boost to team Pakistan because they were suffering a lot of defeats since the World cup 2015. Now they are ranked no.9 in ICC ODI Rankings, they need to improve themselves a lot in order to qualify for 2019 World cup, otherwise they will have to play qualifiers for world cup 2019 and it will be a big shame for team Pakistan.
Now i come to my point, the review of match.

Though Ireland is a minnow in the cricket but they are improving side since they started playing cricket. But there greatest triumph was 2007 World cup, when they knocked out Pakistan from world cup campaign. That was there first victory against a test playing nation.
The match started at 9:45 GMT. William Porterfield (Irish Captain) unexpectedly decided to bowl first after winning the toss.The match was reduced to 47 overs per side due to rain before the match. The weather was cloudy but there was no threat of rain anymore. Pakistan ended their innings at 337/6 with a destroying inning of 152 by Sharjeel Khan and a late counter attack by Shoaib Malik and Muhammad Nawaz..Though Azhar Ali and Babar Azam failed to make a big one. Tim Murtag and Barry McCarthy were a bit successful against strong Pakistan batting lineup. The Pakistan batting scorecard is given here.

In reply of 338 Ireland never looked in a commanding position,specially after losing wicket of their key batsman Paul Stirling on the second delivery of the inning with an unplayable, perfect inswinger by Muhammad Amir.

The stumps were flying all over since than. No Irish batsmen was seen capable of doing big. They were unable to gain any sort of confidence. After that early break through by Amir, Umar Gul ran through the top order of the Ireland and made them begging at 32/4 after 10 overs. After this successful,swinging and seaming spell by Gul , Imad ran through the late order and tail. He got 5 for 14 in his 5.4 over quota . This was his first 5 wicket haul for him in One day international cricket. This was also the lowest total by Ireland at home. The scorecard for Irish Innings is here.
Big Pictures in the match:
Though the whole match was a big pictures but there are few players who achieved something special for them. Some of them are discussed below.
1. Sharjeel Khan:
No doubt a much needed inning for his career because he was in and out of the team since his debut against Srilanka in 2013,and since than he was unable to make a big show or something special to show his class. So he proved himself with a great 152 of 86 deliveries. He achieved a lot of records in this innings. He became the 3rd Pakistani to make 150+ in one day internationals. Also it was the fastest 150 by a Pakistani and overall it is 3rd fastest 150. He struck 9 sixes and 16 fours in his mind blowing inning. Also this was the 4th fastest century by a Pakistan(61 deliveries).He struck the six on the last delivery of first over to clearly give a message to Ireland that what he is going to do.

His inning will be watched and kept in mind for long long time. Now he need to improve well in the upcoming series against England because he is also given a few names by the critics as minnow basher. So a big task coming up.

This was maiden century by sharjeel khan in one day internationals. He made his debut in 2013 and since than he could not make anything big to make himself proud.

2. Imad Wasim:
Imad Wasim is one of the most talented all rounder in Pakistani side now a days. In this match he took a record breaking 5/14. This was the best bowling figure by a Pakistani left arm bowler in one day international cricket beating Wasim Akram's previous best of 5/15. This was also the first five wickets haul by Imad Wasim in one day International cricket.

Once he was on hatrick after taking two consecutive wickets in the final over of the match. But third delivery was blocked by Chase. But on the fourth delivery he got Chase with an arm ball getting 3 wickets in four balls.

3. Umar Gul:
Umar Gul made a great comeback in this match. He was wicket less for four consecutive matches before this. It was a spell which he needed most for his survival in the playing XI. He proved the critics wrong by his seaming and swinging spell. He took 3 for 23 in his 5 over spell.

4. Muhammad Nawaz:
Just like Umar Gul and Sharjeel Khan , this spell is also having a great importance for this young debutant Muhammad Nawaz. He got a great raise in PSL season 1 since than ony once he was selected for T20 team but he could not prove himself in international cricket. In this match he performed a bit well both with bat and the ball. He scored 53 of 50 deliveries at the strike rate of 106. Also he took 1 wicket at the expense of !4 runs in his three overs.

Conclusion:
So overall a great win for Pakistan team.They badly needed a boost like that. They need to be consistent like that. A lot of young blood in the which need to be nourished. This match gave Pakistan a great boost before ahead of the series against England which had a supreme importance for the qualification of Pakistani team in World cup 2019. Everyone need to show his class, specially Sharjeel need to perform well because he is one and only batsman in Pakistan XI with modern and aggressive mindset. Imad also need to be consistent both with bat and ball because he is only to fulfill the slot of a genuine all rounder after Abdul Razzaq. On the other hand, Amir also need to show consistency in his line and length, and still he need to prove his come back right. Nawaz need to took his good form to the next series.
